We Are Noise are a 21st century arts charity located in the centre of Darwen in the Northwest of England. The creative arts centre and music studios provide activities and facilitate the engagement and up-skilling of marginalised and hard to reach young people from Blackburn with Darwen and the surrounding areas.
Embracing young peoples interests, we support the learning and artistic endeavours of all service users, helping them to thrive within the environment and activities available to them. We Are Noise is a registered Arts Award centre and offers all young attendees the opportunity to achieve a qualification in whatever arts activity they choose.
Express Yourself
We Are Noise provide contemporary musical engagement in the form of music production, creation and songwriting workshops. Our aim is to facilitate the creation of modern music using state of the art technology and approaches. Our goal is to illuminate and facilitate the journey into sound regardless of experience, creating an informative and inclusive practice which attempts to lower the barriers into the musical stylings of popular culture.
Performance
We Are Noise we believe wholeheartedly in the power of performing to help bolster confidence and self esteem. We offer opportunities in singing, rapping, DJing, music production and recorded live video performances for young people to explore their interests and express themselves however they wish.
Digital DJ skills
We Are Noise help young people to learn digital DJing on industry standard equipment utilising cutting edge processes and techniques. Mixing, scratching, fx and playlist/set creation is just some of the skills we teach our students.
Digital Music
Music production is central to all modern music and genres. Whether that is sequencing, songwriting, editing or recording, We Are Noise provide the equipment and creative space for all to come along and learn the necessary techniques to thrive in the creation of digital music.
Videography
We Are Noise truly believe that an image can speak a thousand words, so we teach our young people to pick up the camera, shoot their video and edit it in a way meaningful to them. Using state of the art hardware and software we teach editing, colouring, special fx and title creation.
Photography
We Are Noise provide industry standard cameras and lenses for those wishing to work within the medium of still images. We help young people to learn the skills of capturing photos correctly at source then editing them in Adobe Photoshop and Lightrooms to process for presentation.
