VIDEO 1 - THE JOURNEY

I have done a video recording to explain what I want to do for my Arts Award. I want to focus on on Grime and Rap and release my own music. I want to show where I come from and put Burnley on the map.

I spent time creating a plan to follow to help keep on track during my Arts Award. I used Canva to create a mind map with my We Are Nosie tutor to show it on my website. I kept it simple to hope I achieve my goal of growing a fan base and creating my own music.

I have been spending time int he studio exploring different Artists. Using different beats from YouTube and freestyling. working with my tutors its been a great space explore different techniques and hear new tracks that I might not of found on my own. When I have been on YouTube listening to tracks I have been reading the reviews of the fans to see how I could start growing my own, what the fans want is important.

Learning the Studio

I have been spending time in the studio getting more familiar with the equipment. I have been learning how to set up the microphone and use Cubse to record myself on the computer and download my own backing track with my tutor.

This is my first take of my track ‘Fast Life’ I have been working on. It was good to get into the studio and experience it through the head phones and making sure my timing was on point.

When I recorded Fast Life it gave me motivation to write more bars and keep getting on the mic to practice. The studios at We Are Noise have gave me space to try different ideas. In the pictures you can see me writing and trying lots of different lyrics.

Gallery 5 - Exploring DJing

I’ve been spending time with my We Are Noise tutors designing my logo for myself as an Artist and some artwork for my song. I drew the design out on paper and my tutor helped me make it digital on Canva. I used one of my photos from my photoshoot as well and added some text for my song fast life.

Latest Track

During my time at the We Are Noise studios I’ve also been looking at Djing. Its another part of music and the studio that I’m really interested in. Some of my class mates have been doing Djing for their arts award and I thought I’d give it a go as well to try something new.

SKILL SHARE

For my skill share I will be teaching how to set a microphone to record like I learnt when I started coming to We Are Nosie

I have spent time planning my skill share and figuring out what I will share, choosing something I know I can do confidently, and how I am going to share my lesson. I have chose setting up a microphone to record because I like being able to jump on the mic and rap some bars.
